Spearman ISD is in search of a General Maintenance Worker.  The position is a 12 month position and the District pays $400 per month towards applicant's health insurance. Applicant must undergo a FBI fingerprint and criminal history check before they can begin employment. 

 

Primary Purpose:

Perform general maintenance and repair of building structures and their mechanical, electrical and sanitary systems throughout the district.  Assist with maintenance of grounds.

 

Qualifications:

Clear and valid Texas's driver's license

Must be at least 18 yrs. old

 

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Ability to follow verbal and written instructions

Knowledge of basic construction and routine maintenance and repair procedures

Ability to operate hand and power tools/equipment

Ability to work independently

 

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Assist workers with repair and maintenance of district facilities
• Perform maintenance and minor repairs on building exterior & interior, playground equipment and grounds
• Complete repairs as directed on work orders
• Assist with mowing and detailing of grounds
• Move, install, assemble and repair all school furniture and equipment
• Follow established safety procedures
• Maintain tools and equipment and perform preventive maintenance
