Gus Birdwell Elementary is accepting applications for the following non-certified paraprofessional position for: Libriarian Paraprofessional for 2024-2025 school year. 

Applicant must have the ability to communicate effectively in both English & Spanish is preferred, but not required.  In addition, applicant must have: (1) high school diploma or GED; and (2) must be "highly qualified".  To be considered "highly qualified" applicant must meet one of the following: (a) completed at least 2 years of study at an institution of high education (as verified by a college transcript); (b) obtained an associates degree; (c) have met a standard of quality as demostrated through a rigorous five days of academic training and assessment.

The District's contributes $400 per month towards applicants health insurance.  Applicant must undergo a FBI Fingerprinting and criminal history check before they can begin employment.

Primary Purpose:

Manages the campus library and media center; perform routine clerical duties under supervision. 

Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Proficient keyboarding and file maintenance skills

2. Ability to shelve books following district cataloging system

3. Ability to work with children

4. Effective, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
